Importing national holidays and compulsory collective closures to Outlook

Every year we inform you via the website and newsletter about the days that are deducted from your leave balance. You can now import the compulsory collective closures for the next three years to your Outlook calendar with just a couple of clicks.

Instructions on how to import these dates to your calendar are given on the page on national holidays and compulsory collective closures.

Training course on 'PDI for managers and supervisors’ now available in English

HRM Training Courses has added a new course to its range: PDI for managers and supervisors (English version) 
Dates: 29 October and 26 November.

Members of staff of Leiden University can enrol for the course via Self Service.

New travel agent for business travel

With effect from 1 October 2015, Leiden University has a new travel agent.  As the agreement with ATP, our former travel agent, was coming to an end and there were no further options for extending the contract, a tender was held by a purchasing platform, made up of representatives from all the faculties, to find a new travel agent.  The new agent is Uniglobe Alliance Travel, a Rotterdam company with Canadian roots.

All travel arrangements that are already in the hands of ATP will of course be maintained, and any trips ordered via ATP before 1 October will be handled by them.  After 1 October, in line with the contract agreed between Uniglobe and Leiden University, Uniglobe will take over all travel arrangements for the University.

Work is currently in progress to prepare the electronic booking system (the so-called portal) and to set up the database of staff who travel.  In practice, once users have become accustomed to the new digital environment, very little will change. A number of information meetings (webpage in Dutch) will be organised in September to introduce staff to Uniglobe.
