Tax return 2016 due before 1 May

To start with, some good news: often, you are not obliged and it is not worthwhile to file a Dutch tax return. This will be the case if you only had Dutch employment income during the complete calendar year and are not entitled to any deductions (like mortgage interest) and did not receive an invitation (blue envelope) to file a Dutch tax return


US Travel Ban

The US travel restrictions are deeply regrettable. Support will be offered to students and staff who are affected.


Free running training for staff

Are you going to run one of the distances in the Leiden marathon in May? If so, you can join one of the free training sessions that Leiden University and the Leiden Marathon are organising. It makes no difference if you are unfit or a seasoned runner, whether you intend to run 5 kilometers or a half-marathon - everyone is welcome.


A gift from a business contact? Things to bear in mind

Rector Magnificus Carel Stolker said at the presentation of the Code of Conduct on Integrity at the start of November: 'Most people have a good sense of what is right and wrong.' For the sake of clarity, Leiden University has set out guidelines on proper conduct, for example when receiving gifts.'


New website for students

Today Leiden University launched the new student website . In the past few months the student website has been extensively overhauled to give it a more up-to-date ‘look and feel’ with shorter, more concise information.
