In March Leiden University will receive visits by the Audit Committee that is assessing the quality assurance system for teaching at Leiden University. The committee held discussions in January with University and Faculty Board members; the present round of discussions will be held with a number of different faculties and departments.

On the 21st and 22nd of January, our university will be audited by the NVAO (Dutch/Flemish Accreditation Organisation) on the quality of our education. All Dutch universities are required by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Science to undergo such evaluation. The committee will hold an open consultation on January 22nd for anyone – students, lecturers or supporting staff – who has something to say wants to talk to the committee about our institutional quality assurance.
The unions and the Association of Universities in the Netherlands (VSNU) have reached agreement on the Collective Labour Agreement (CAO) of Dutch Universities. The new CAO will be valid for the period from 1 January 2011 to 1 January 2014.
