P&O News 20 October 2015
- Academic Leadership course
- First payment of commuting costs
- Sampler of LDE joint training and development courses
This autumn will see the start of preparations for the 13th course on Academic Leadership to be given by Barbara Takacs and Ben Verheijden (formerly from De Baak, now collaborating under the name Takacs and Verheijden).
The course is intended for academic staff who have recently started or will shortly be starting a new or more demanding role (scientific director or similar), and who have not previously taken part in this kind of programme. Non-academic staff who hold a similarly demanding position can also take part in the programme.
The Executive Board is asking Faculty Boards to nominate candidates in November for the course. If you fall into the target group for this course and you are interested in participating, you can, of course, contact your Faculty Board yourself.
A new Regulation on Commuting Costs has been in operation since 1 June 2015. The necessary modifications to the salary system have now been implemented and tested and the first payments under the new system will take place with the salaries for October. These payments relate to the period from 1 June up to and including October.
If you have any questions relating to the payment of commuting costs, please contact the P&O department of your faculty or department.
On Thursday 5 November you have the chance to find out more about the joint training and development programmes for staff of the LDE institutions (Leiden, Delft, Erasmus Rotterdam). Since 1 January 2014 the LDE institutions have made their training programmes available to all staff at the three universities. This means not only that you can choose from a wider range of programmes, but also that there are now more opportunities for broadening your contacts with colleagues from the other universities.
You can register now for any of the courses that interest you. The courses are free of charge.
The introduction to the new, joint training and development courses (and of course also to your colleagues from the other universities) will take the form of a ‘sampler'. There will be different workshops based on the existing courses of the three LDE universities, led by the current trainers. There will also be the opportunity to talk to the trainers about your experiences, ambitions and training-related questions.
Register now to find out what the Leiden Delft Erasmus training courses can offer you.
